Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that July 24 date has been picked for the unification bout

A rematch is expected to hold in Wembley later in the year which will worth at least £500million

The heavyweight unification bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has been scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia this summer according to SunSport.

A rematch worth £500million is billed to take place in London later in the year as the world is set for a blockbuster boxing showdown.

Negotiations between the two parties had gone on for weeks, with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn also admitting that the self-imposed deadlines were missed.

But it looks like it is finally happening with July 24 date officially set, and at most latest early-August.

According to The Telegraph, Hearn said:

“We haven’t finalised an exact date, July 24 is the rough date but it may leak into early August but no later than that. The Olympics will be a different timezone so it’s not really in the mindset.”
The timing of the bout is a curious one, with big fights very rarely taking place during the summer Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, Andy Ruiz has reversed his decision about the outcome of the heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

All four belts including the WBA, IBF, WBO titles held by Joshua and the WBC strap round the wait of Fury will be put on the line.

Ruiz Jr, once defeated Joshua courtesy of a seventh-round knockout but lost on a unanimous point decision in the rematch.

The Mexican-born American heavyweight once predicted that the Gypsy King would emerge victorious against his former challenger back in February.

He has however stated that Joshua has all it takes to pull off victory in the encounter.

Legit.ng earlier reported that ahead of the ‘undisputed’ boxing heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, legendary retired boxer Mike Tyson has expressed fears for the Nigerian-British.

According to Iron Mike Tyson, Fury is way too elusive for the Nigeria descent as he expressed worry ahead of the fight.

Though when the pair do meet, heavyweight legend Tyson believes Fury’s win over Deontay Wilder last February gives the Gypsy King an advantage.
