Tottenham Hotspur held conversations with Manchester United sensation Marcus Rashford over a possible summer transfer, according to super-agent Roberto De Fanti.

Rashford, 24, had a rough season at Old Trafford, losing his starting spot in the Red Devils’ starting lineup. The English forward appeared in 32 games, scoring five goals and assisting on two occasions.

Since his professional debut in 2015, he has had the lowest return of his career. As a result of his circumstances at Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano has been evaluating his future, according to him.

Roberto De Fanti, United’s super-agent, has announced the fee that will be required to sign the player (via CaughtOffside):

“A valuation of around £40m, maybe £50m sounded reasonable prior to any conversations, but it turns out the attacker would cost much more — between £70m and £80m.”
Tottenham Hotspur have held conversations with the Englishman, according to De Fanti.

“It appears that the player’s camp and Tottenham Hotspur have had some recent negotiations.” However, the London club believes that negotiating a deal for Rashford is nearly difficult, therefore a move is no longer an option.”
Rashford rose quickly through the United ranks after graduating from the club’s development system. He’s appeared in 303 games for the Red Devils, scoring 93 goals and adding 57 assists.

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup just around the corner, the English star is in danger of missing out. He has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s last two selections, after his form deteriorated dramatically during the 2021-22 season.

Marcus Rashford’s talks with Tottenham may have come to a stop as a result of Ralf Rangnick’s departure from Manchester United.

Rashford was reportedly enraged by former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick, according to SportBible.

The issues for the United star this season began when the German took over in December of last year. Anthony Elanga, a youngster, rapidly took his position in the starting XI. Rangnick was not afraid to tell his players the truth, which apparently irritated Rashford.

Rangnick made only nine Premier League starts with the 24-year-old, who cut a dissatisfied figure during his time as interim boss.

Following his brief tenure as United’s manager, Rangnick was expected to go into a consulting role. However, the two parties’ collaboration came to a stop when Rangnick took over the Austrian national team.

Many expect Rashford to try to impress new United manager Erik ten Hag and return to the heights he reached before his disastrous season. Manchester United’s star has already undertaken a rigorous pre-season training regimen in order to improve his condition.
