Barcelona, meanwhile, have remained committed to the project, as per Cadena COPE, but the club won’t enter the competition unless the assembly of club members approves it.

The meeting between the 12 European Super League club has ended, according to Cadena COPE, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have decided to remain involved in the project.

Chelsea haven’t confirmed that they will be leaving the ESL but have expressed doubts over the project’s prospects. Manchester City, meanwhile, have announced their withdrawal.

However, this doesn’t mean that the Catalans will definitely be a part of the ESL in case the project sees the light of the day. Joan Laporta is claimed to have included a clause in the foundational document saying that Barca won’t join the competition if the decision isn’t approved by the assembly of club members.
