Mino Raiola gives a huge boost in Erling Haaland transfer race
Haaland is Europe’s most in-demand striker after another stunning season with Borussia Dortmund, who take on City in the Champions League quarter-finals next week.
He’s scored 10 times in the Champions League already this term and also has 21 goals in 21 Bundesliga games.
Competition will be fierce for his signature and fees well in excess of £100million are already being mooted for the 20-year-old Norwegian.
City’s biggest challenge is likely to arrive from Manchester United who have also identified Haaland as a top transfer target heading into the summer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer managed Haaland at Molde and United were keen to sign him from Red Bull Salzburg before he moved to Dortmund in January last year.
”As for Mr Guardiola, I’ve closed the book already a long time ago,” he said. “Everybody knows what I think of him personally and he can say what he thinks for me personally
“For the rest, I think he’s a great trainer. And that’s how it is. I will not shut up for anybody. I’ll give my opinion, I think that it is my right.
“With Mr Ferguson or Guardiola, I have this problem — and I think that it is changing now — that (they believe) we should submit to them because ‘otherwise, tomorrow, you don’t do a player with Manchester United’.
”I don’t give a f*** if I never do another player with Manchester United. I’m not in their hands. I’m independent.
“We have only one party that we take care of: our players. And as long as our players like us, you do what you have to do.”
