The golden glove award was previously called “Lev Yashin Award” right from 1994 to 2006. This award is usually presented to the most outstanding goalkeeper in the WorldCup competition or the keeper with the highest number of clean sheets.
When there is a tie while deciding the winner of the golden glove, the keeper who progressed furthest would be awarded. If the tie is not broken still, a number of saves are counted.
