Italy has confirmed the injury of Spinazolla and the return date from sideline
Italy medical staff just confirmed after today tests that Leonardo Spinazzola broke his achilles tendon. He won’t be able to play for the next 5/6 months
The left-back was stretchered off midway through the second half in Munich, before a scan in Rome on Saturday revealed the extent of his injury.
He will miss the rest of Euro 2020 and will be out of action for 5-6 months, as he is expected to undergo an operation in Finland.
Spinazzola has been one of the standout players of the tournament so far, as he has played a key role in Italy’s brilliant campaign so far.
“Unfortunately we all know what has happened, but our dream continues and nothing is impossible with this great group,” Spinazzola wrote on Instagram.
“I can only say that I will return soon! I am sure!”
