Confusion at Kumasi Asante Kotoko as CEO clashes with youth coach
Asante Kotoko Youth team coach, George Asare has reported Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah to Manhyia Palace for allegedly cursing him in his absence.
Youth team coach who has not been paid since November 2020 said he was told by Stephen Manu that he has been cursed by the youth enterprising football administrator.
According to him, he was met by Nana Yaw Amponsah together with Stephen Manu and the pair were asked to scouts for the club since Johnson Smith and Abdul Gazale will now serve in the capacity as the team youth coaches.
Asare then said he has not been paid since he took charge of the club and must be paid before he takes up any position at the club but he was asked by Nana Yaw Amponsah to demand his unpaid wages from the Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei since he was the person who employed him.

He then narrated that Nana Yaw Amponsah wanted to fight him left the meeting and his absence, he was told by Stephen Manu that he has been cursed by the CEO of the club.
“Nana Yaw Amponsah had a meeting with me [George Asare] and Stephen Manu on Saturday and told us that, he wants us to be scouts for the Asante Kotokobut I asked him why and he said our role as the youth team coach is now going to be handled by Johnson Smith and Abdul Gazale,” Asare told Kumasi based Pure FM.
“I asked him to pay us because I have not been paid since November 2020 as the Youth Team coach for Kotoko’s club. Nana Yaw Amponsah told me to go to Dr Kwame Kyei since he was the one who employed us.
“He tried to fight me but I left there.”
He continued, “The incident happened at Coach Kwesi Appiah’s hotel. After I left there, Richard Manu called me and told me that, Nana Yaw Amponsah has cursed me by pouring water into a sink after incantation by using my name. I have reported him to two board members of the club.

“The curse was that I will not be a success in my spell with any team I will go to in my coaching career. I wasn’t there but that’s what Richard Manu reported to me and I have summoned him for the curse,” he added.
However, unhappy George Asare and Richard Manu have reported Mr Amponsah to Manhyia Palace on Tuesday morning for reigning curse on them.
Mr Asare is demanding for his unpaid wages from the club whiles Manu is also demanding for an apology from Nana Yaw Amponsah.
